I'd like to point out that there was only one other time that the last F1 race of the season had two drivers tied for points. It was the 1974 season and the race was the USGP at Watkins Glen. The drivers were Emerson Fittipaldi (McLaren) and Clay Regazzoni (Ferrari). Fittipaldi qualified 8th, Regazzoni 9th. By finishing 4th, Fittipaldi outpointed Regazzoni's troubled 11th place finish. Would like to add at the time it was the 10th grand prix I was in attendance.

I know very little about f1 and very little about Gran Turismo on my PS4.
That said, this much is true: When I know I have a faster car, I drive more like Lewis. When I don’t, I drive more like Max. Because of that silly nearly irrelevant experience, I suspect that the different performance levels of their cars may have more influence over each man’s approach to risk and the rules than the character of the men themselves. |

Be careful with conclusions based off FP times. Teams do not disclose to the press the fuel loads carried during the FP sessions. Less fuel = faster. It is told that both HAM and VER were driving with high fuel loads to simulate race conditions, but not necessarily equal high fuel loads. This could also explain why Ocon surprisingly got P2 during FP2: very likely Ocon was low on fuel compared to HAM and VER. If either HAM or VER score 'bad' times during FP3 tomorrow: very likely just smoke and mirrors to mislead competitors - they're using fuel as extra weight. You'll see that the delta between HAM and VER will be smaller during qualification: equal low fuel load. And as track use continues, the circuit gets more 'rubbered in', contributing to improved times. Also worth to be noted about FP2: BOT hit the wall with his right rear wheel. At first glance no damage. But a warning.
