Hi everyone,

I have a BMW F40 1 Series with the following options:
S0316 – Automatic trunk lid
S0322 – Comfort Access
S0235 – Detachable towing hitch (factory)
The car has electric tailgate and Comfort Access, but kick-to-open (Smart Opener) is not working.

Before removing the bumper, I would like to ask:
On F40 with factory S0235 towing hitch, is the kick sensor usually not installed at all?
Does BMW still pre-wire the vehicle for the kick sensor in this configuration?
If not pre-wired, does retrofit require running new wires to HKFM?
Has anyone successfully activated Smart Opener with factory tow hitch?
Any experience or wiring diagrams would be appreciated.
