Hi! New 128ti owner here!

Does anybody know a way to code US lights on a EU/German version of the F40?

I appreciate a lot of what has been talked about in this thread is mainly for enhancing the 135i but I have a 21 plate 120d xdrive auto with comfort pack etc, does anyone know if any of this coding would work on mine? Changing the way the gearbox and engine behaves and also dash set up? Don’t like to repeat previous posts but nobody has mentioned anything about the old dirty diesel!

You can get a quick overview of common simple coding changes by looking at the BimmerCode website: https://bimmercode.app/ and looking at what's available for the F40, which should be generally applicable for all this series.

I hope it's useful. However if you are looking for engine /transmission enhancements then the normal coding systems (BimmerCode, Bimmer Utility, E-Sys) won't really help. You'd need specialist assistance.

Yes very useful thank you, I take it the OBD readers recommended by BimmerCode will give access to the options listed on their site?

Yes. I'd recommend using ENET with an Ethernet adapter for your iPhone or Android. It's generally cheaper, faster and more complete than some of the other OBD connectors. It also supports BimmerLink if you want that app as well.

Anybody had any issues with ASD being turned off after coding the default drive mode?

Changed the default drive mode to Sport last night and now appear to have no ASD, although i have not changed anything to do with ASD.

I tried that a year ago, from what I remember there was no changes to ASD.

I was not even able to deactivate ASD when I wanted to. The artificial burbles in sport mode were still active.

Yeah it shouldn't in theory, but it certainly seems like i have no ASD! I have even restored the backup with no luck.

Maybe its just a placebo but even when using bimmerlink to turn ASD on/off I notice no difference. Strange!

Did you look in the iDrive menu? Maybe you just need to turn it on there?

Any related error codes in Bimmerlink error memory?

Maybe the module needs a hard reset, or disconnet / re-connect battery?

Does anyone know if it's possible to code in the M-Display rev counter in the HUD of the F40? There seems to be success over on the G20 and G01 pages but little info here.

I have bimmercode installed which I used on my F80 but will need to get a new cable/dongle or should I move to Esys?

Thanks
Did anyone manage to configure this?

I’m getting the "Pedestrian Protection System" fault on my dash. I suspect the sensors or actuators are done, and since the car is out of warranty, the repair costs are high.
I want to code this system out permanently. I have E-Sys a ready. Can anyone guide me through the process?
