BlackVue dashcam hardwired

Hardwired my BlackVue single channel dash cam with external battery to run parking mode. Nearly hidden behind the center lower dash trim just on top of the power distribution box in which it’s hard wired into. OEM pin installed for power distribution box for KL15 circuit to charge the battery. Dashcam runs purely off battery so once the car is turned on the battery charges and turns the camera on. Once the car is turned off the dashcam runs indefinitely until the external battery depletes to empty.

Good job.

You've mounted it lower than I have mine. When I first installed mine near where you've installed yours, I got no GPS signal. Had to move the device up so that the sticky plate was over the black dots.

Perhaps I could've experimented a bit more with placement but my arms got tired waiting for the GPS lock.

Is yours a recent BlackVue (with three-wire power cable)? Could you show where you tapped off for live, neutral & switched live?...or did you simply use a switched live to the battery?

A list of parts would be super useful too

The power to the external battery is a simple 12v and ground. Cable to battery and dashcam was provided with external battery and is unmodified. I realized I had no GPS signal but forgot about the fact that the windshield blocks it out unless in the dotted area. Maybe I will move it someday.

Apparently below the built-in forward camera works, though not tried it myself.

In the dots 100% works.
