cg-precision vcs-2 and SST. The rest like Dahler are way too expensive for what they do, IMO. May also look at IRL but its a bit pricier than the first two

https://irlllc.com/products/irl-valve-controller

EDIT:

may end up doing this. Way cheaper and looks like it may work, it's just closing the loop so it doesnt trigger a code

https://www.ebay.com/itm/364567948515

EDIT 2:

here's the same thing cheaper

The problem with the VCS controller is very high failure rate. Plenty of threads on it. Not sure if it’s been resolved but lot of unhappy customers.

Those modules won’t actually open the valves fully. 3/4 at best and if you pull the plug when they are closed they will remain that way.

Both my cars have been in for service and no codes.

Mmm, you're right, just pulled a search of the vsc and sure enough lots of failures. Even some vendors are saying high failure rate no warranty

As far as the cheap modules are concerned, some people on other forums have said they do work IF you fully open the valves (which you can do with bimmerlink) then disconnect them.

But like you said, they remain closed if closed and open if open, so its a one-thing deal. What are you using that throws no codes?

I wired them open with steel zip ties. I don’t think they are throwing codes only because the dealer hasn’t said anything when I bring in for service. Not 100% as I didn’t check myself.

I need to do this. Going to review threads on how to.

most of the failures with the cg precision revolve around the G8x platform. i've been running the CG precision for almost two years without any issues whatsoever.

that being said, if i had the opportunity, i'd highly suggest people just go for the SST instead. it's reliable (havent seen a single issue with it on the G8x platform) and customizable (fully open, fully closed, OEM, etc). they're also not that much more expensive than the CG precision. so

the SST would definitely be my number one pick. keeping the valves permanently open (while easy and cheap) will get old real quick with the constant increase in volume/drone. with a valve controller you get your cake and eat it too at such a low price.

I got an email from cg and said that while the controller itself is compatible, they couldn't guarantee fitment because the harness would have to be extended.

They wanted me to measure from the valves to their mounting point. I didnt care to continue after that. SST is still numero uno on my list, but the cheap plugs are very tempting given the price point.

EDIT: ended up getting the amzn plugs, if they work awesome, if not, got 30 days to return. Win-win

I get Rennlist emails and just read about this highway robbery. If you plan to visit NYC with your ///M then turn off your valves. This is becoming crazy with congestion pricing to kick in soon.

I want to run it from the trunk by the battery space to protect the module from the elements. 10 min sounds about right.
