Having just bought a JB4 and seeing the sale on CTS products on xPH, I think I'm ready to pull the trigger on the CTS highflow downpipe.

-Does anyone have experience with this specific downpipe?

-I know it doesn't come with the no CEL guarantee but would I be able to clear a CEL with the JB4?

-I've ordered from xPH before with no issues but I think direct from CTS is like $100 less. Would xPH match that or should I just order direct

Edit: I may be an idiot: the downpipe that's $100 cheaper may be a catless, not 100% sure though.

You are not an idiot, but you are correct about the cheaper option being catless.

Catted price is the same on our website and CTS, except we do not charge shipping, and they do.

The CTS downpipe will most likely trigger the check engine light, the jb4 can clear the code, but it won't do it automatically. You must keep clearing the code every time it pops up.

Nevermind, I was on the cts website and was looking at installation instructions and couldn’t find one for the b46 downpipe but looked through the b58 one and it seems that mostly everything is reused although it recommends a new ring gasket.

Just placed my order and can’t wait!

Got it installed! The shop said it was definitely a high quality piece. They mentioned that there wasn’t as much flex as the stock downpipe so the exhaust tips are like a few mm off but nothing goofy looking or even noticeable. I get tons of burbles (I did get quite a few with the stock setup though) and they are more pronounced along with more pronounced upshift farts. Exhaust sounds definitely oem+. I didn’t drive too much on map 2 with 0 other mods but map 2 plus the downpipe feels great. I get a good bit of lag in 1st but 3rd-5th pull surprisingly hard. I drove about 25 miles and got a cel. At the last stop light I cleared the code and drove home with no cel. Curious if this is going to show up every drive, spirited drives, or occasionally/randomly?

That’s great to hear, I’m glad that you’re enjoying the downpipe, I have the catless version of the CTS Turbo downpipe, how would you describe the smell on a scale of intensity of the catted ones? and could you possible post some sound clips of your car?

Didn’t notice any smells at all except last night when I remote started the car and it sat for 15 min. I park in a parking deck off in a corner and I definitely noticed a smell when I got to the car. All other cases were fine though. I’d say scale wise during the day the smell was at a 1 or 0 in the car and after driving. I honestly didn’t smell anything different. At night in the deck the smell was like a 7 but getting in the car and driving it was back to maybe a 2 at most at the very start.

I can definitely get some clips! It’ll be hard getting a cold start outside of the deck though but I’ll see what I can do about that. Check back in maybe a week for the clips.

Holding up great and sounds great! Obviously throwing CELs (at random) but not too big of a deal for me. Nothing negative to report.
