Wiper replacement

Just to let you know the correct part number for Valeo Silencio wipers. They are absolutely identical to the OEM wipers that BMW charge you twice the price for. Just bought these on ebay for £26.99.

For RHD F36, part number is 577829 VF829.

I have used these on my previous 3 series also (different code) and when you compare them to BMW OEM the only difference is that they have Valeo in white writing at the end of the blade, everything else is identical. I am sure they must make the blades for BMW.

Yep, always used these as replacements over the last 7 years, as you say exact same except the valeo logo, but can live with that.

Yep, I replaced mine about a day after buying it as they were pretty much plastic and I think were the originals at 5yrs old. Even now when I'm thinking of changing them before winter (3 years and 40k) they're night and day compared to the originals which were long overdue. I think 3yrs given the amount of icy and muddy windows they've cleared is quite impressive so I'll be going for the Valeo ones again, they seem to be much better than the Bosch ones I've used previously. Cheers for the link and reminder sensible!

Valeo for sure. You can use nail polish remover to get rid of the white lettering if you want.

I believe the wiper model numbers are VF371 /VM371 for the f30.

There is an option on Amazon to buy them used - I did once, obviously its a new wipers I think that when somebody ordered for a wrong car and opened a package to find it doesn't fit. Sometimes price difference is more noticeable, perhaps subject to stock.

Did yours come with a stainless hinge pin?

That was the only difference I noticed on those aftermarket valeos vs the dealer ones.

The aftermarket ones I got used the same image, which shows a metal hinge pin, but mine were plastic, not that it makes a massive difference I suspect!

This is the comparison photo of my F30 Valeo wipers v OEM BMW. Both have a stainless hinge pin. I haven't compared the F36 wiper I recently fitted but will have a look.

Thanks for that. Mine came from EuroCarParts and didn't have the steel pin. Where did you get yours from? Cheers.

Just checked my new set of Valeo Silencio wipers and you are right, they have plastic pins. However, as shown above, previous ones I bought for F30 had stainless pins, so maybe they have changed over to them. Anyone bought new OEM wipers recently to check against, are they plastic now?
