Engine sound agumented?

Hey guys, does anyone know if the engine sound is "augmented" from the speakers even if the car does not have "active sound design" option? I think the R4 in my 220i sounds better then it should, not that I'm complaining mind you - I'm just wondering if it's somehow faked?

Every F4x car has active sound design. So yes, it has.

Is it not? Then cars are different in other regions. Were Im from, you cannot order the car without. But you can certainly deactivate it.

I don't have it as an option on the original spec sheet but I think the sound is faked from the speakers a bit during hard acceleration Not 100% sure though...

Yes, you cant find it on the spec sheet. It's standard.
Does the sound change when you switch into sport mode and accelerate?

Not sure, I'll try to compare that when I get the chance (comfort acceleration vs sport acceleration sound)

Ok I checked it today by flooring the accelerator in Comfort and Sport and I don't hear any difference... Maybe it just sounds half-decent on its own...

Hi,
In UK spec. in settings sound there is a possibility of 3 settings / turn off completely, reduce and according to the selected driving style.
Of course it's not the natural sound of a muffler
only processed and reproduced by speakers
I hear almost nothing in Eco, a little in Comfort and the most in Sport.
But it's not the sound of you having stomach cramps.
Some people are crazy about the volume of mufflers and trade in aftermarket stuff that snorts and snorts and wakes up the whole street in the morning.
I like the natural sound of the engine, especially V6 without turbo.

Sport and Eco modes have standard and individual versions. In Sport individual (can't remember for Eco) sound is one of the options you can change.

Anyway, yes.

If you have the Active Sound Design option i assume? Makes sense - mine doesn’t have that. In mode configuration screen there is just engine, steering and gearbox if I remember correctly.

Are you referring to this option within iDrive 7?
