Won’t help lowering, might worsen ride quality slightly. The 240 front spring rates are slightly higher than the 230 to compensate for heavier i6 engine vs i4 engine. At least this was the case for 228i vs M235i when I was researching it a few years ago. I think the best bet are still the Dinan spring kit or the M performance springs which are more difficult to source. It seems you have to get the whole passive M sport suspension for ~ $800 to get those. Both options up the rate and lower the car a livable amount.

Dinan has no springs for the car bc its x drive HnR and Vogtland sell springs for the x drive not sure what the difference is between the X and RWD springs I was looking forward to doing the dinan flash for the shockware but i dont have ECD just tryinig to lower a tad and loose some body roll ive also read that the X drives had the same suspension as the base 230i from 2017-2021 regardless if its a M model would you know if this is also true |

M sport is different than M performance.
The M performance kit for your 230i (if it is RWD) is.... 33502409926 according to realoem. It is passive suspension, not adaptive (no electronic adjustment). Springs are matched to individual cars based on their options and are not 1 size fits all from factory. Last edited by freakystyly; 08-17-2022 at 05:30 PM.. |
