What is going on with BMW design? One atrocity after another.

It just bugs me when people say “what was BMW thinking” or “I wouldn’t buy this” etc. Clearly, if you don’t like the car, you’re not the target market. Simple as that. |

It's a tough category, BMW seems to be on quite the roll. Have you spotted a 7 yet?? Those Kidneys....

I don't really understand why ppl are so surprised about this car. The only thing BMW wants to do by this model - to increase market share. Like, "Hey guys! You don't really need to buy all these A3 or A-class, or even new fancy Korean models, just try our THE 2". C'mon, guys

I wouldn't identify this as a BMW if I saw it on the street (and of course not having seen pictures of it already).
I normally try to keep negative things to my self but this is a very unattractive design.. |

Whether they did on this one or not, is all speculation (we don't know their target, can only assume). This is an Internet forum, so people can complain just like other people can praise it. BOTH are the target market of this and every forum.... My opinion, the lines of this car resemble a Kia more than a BMW, and that's a shame. At least that cheap 318i hatchback back in the late 90's still looked like a BMW (chopped off trunk aside). I understand, but don't like, wanting to enter cheaper markets. But it could and should still look like a BMW. This doesn't. |

The Audi S3/RS3 seem like much nicer, more compelling buys. This car from the front 3/4 angle just screams corolla/Sentra. No bueno.

That has to be classed as a fail by BMW.

Why wasn't this labeled as a 1 seires sedan...? That's what it is no?
Also, the looks are a proportions thing, IMO. The 2 GC is hideous, would never even THINK about owning one. However, the M135i hatch (that we don't get here in the US), is a gorgeous car that I would 100% buy as a daily, has the same face and tail end. The proportions on the hatch are much more suited for the new design. |

just realized, for a few grand more you can get a CT5-V.... or a CT4-V for LESS, both RWD platforms with available awd..... and both massively faster (on paper) than this, I think BMW is already behind. They better have some killer lease incentives if they want to compete.
