i think she had a really bad day and flipped and she didnt think,
end of the day we are only human, but i do think our country has let in far to many people into this country that just claim and live a free life i saw letter on facebook saying if asylum seekers come in a week early for xmas they can claim extra £130 for gas and elec, i feel for all old people that worked all there life to sit in the cold,
is it me but when i see a polish man there here to work to send money back to there family etc
would be nice to let people in that really care about our country

It's a contentious and difficult issue

Some of those foreign people on that tram could have been doctors or similar, and tomorrow they could save the life of someone close to you.

It is easy to mis-judge. There are a lot of scroungers but there are probably more white scroungers.

Some immigration policies are better in other countries but we still have a lazy culture in this country where a lot of under privileged people or people lacking skills won't settle for anything less than 20k PA and won't do the basic jobs starting at the bottom, so they choose to go on benefits. Where as people coming in from the EU will, they will do anything to survive and do it well. I employed a polish worker to do some computer programming for me. Despite his lack of english, he was easily the best person I've ever employed, turned up on time, worked harder and paid his taxes.

He has gone back to poland now, but simply to set up his own company. He served his purpose here.

There are obviously the horror stories of ridiculous benefit claims and special needs for immigrants. There does need to be some adjustments but we also need to get lazy people off benefits and back into jobs, regardless of what it is.

i have been thinking about moving to oz as i am young and fancy something different, one reason is because it seems the only way to get far in life here is pay alot of tax or claim for everything, but it seems really hard to get a visa as its a points system over there, wish our country would do the same

a guy (foreigner) who lives in a council flat was gona act as a guarantor for his brother (another foreigner) , so had to request financial info from the guarantor and found out about his status etc...

the facts:

the guy lives in a council flat....
get some kind of money from the council on a weekly basis...
got 3 kids...

HOWEVER, when i requested his bank statements, he had about £54k in his current a/c!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .....

now, i don't understand if someone has £54k in his current a/c....why is he getting benefits????????.....

2 + y is so often 4, ie: so open and shut. but the department with y at their disposal have no link to the department with x, or 2.

So that 2+2 = 4 never happens.

now at least with the CIS database and the work the DWP is doing, some of these variables are finally being stored together. But even then, the necessary people don't have access to the information etc.

Total; pathetic, mess.

The whole system is fucked. Because the whole reason it's exploted in the first place is down to how lucrative it is and how easy it is to claim in the first place.

Immigration does need to be ironed out in the Country - I totally agree. I've know families abroad who have a fair bit of money and because their kids can't be arsed, they get married to someone here - come over and live off the system. A world wide system needs to be put in place - which is probably impossible, considering this Government doesn't know it's arse from it's elbow.

One thing we fail to mention here is that we can't really blame the people that do chose to come over. We don't know why they were given asylum. In comparison, we've all lived privileged to what some of them have had to experience. We can't blame them for wanting to come here and making something of their lives; thinking about the future of their children. The vast majority of them come here - take on a shitty job that the locals wouldn't touch with a barge - and live a working class life. I admire them people - because they haven't just given in and just waited for fate to deal them a bad card. It's the freeloaders that need to be filtered out.

That vile, disgusting chav doesn't have a point. She hasn't a clue about immigration or how it works - she just doesn't like the colours she see's - that much is evident. She doesn't realise how much foreigners have helped to grow her "British" into the economy it had become in the early naughties. One things for certain - our hospitals would be woefully short of spare hands if it weren't for some of our immigration laws...and we can never put a price on that.
