If your only option is to hold them at the store, get a good grip on it and look how it aligns with your forearm. Ideally it will be perfectly aligned.

Of course, some guns just turn you on be it looks, manual of arms, features etc. all else being equal, pick the one that does. If it's more relatable to you you'll probably shoot it better.
Sage advice! I'll check out the local ranges to see what's available and move for there. More concerned about function over form/looks...

For natural pointing try picking a spot on the wall, close your eyes, point at it, open your eyes, and see how close you got. I did this with several handguns. The most natural pointing ability and comfortable grip for me was sig P229 and 1911. Everyone is different so you need to try yourself. The worst was S&W M&P. I need precious extra seconds to get them on target.

Just make sure no store clerks or other patrons are close to the spot you pick. Some people don't like strangers pointing guns at them

Agreed. I pick a an object behind the counter where nobody is standing. Should point and feel natural.

I only say that because I saw a lady in Scheels point a gun across the store, more than one person "in line" with her aim. I know that the employees check before handing it over but still. Made me uncomfortable.

Any advice/suggestions? TIA!

Shot the a4 today on irons with cheap tula. 2 inch group at 50 and 5 at 100. Not bad for open sights and crappy ammo.

I'm not worried about it. Still carrying mine. It's not like the gun is just randomly going off; has to be dropped (something I don't make a habit of doing) and impact the ground with a very specific angle at that.

Agreed on waiting it out, mostly just to let the backlog clear out a bit so that I'm not sans weapon for 6+ months.

Si, I just bought these three to add to my collection: a Keltec KSG 12 gauge shotgun, a S&W MP-10 AR style .308 Winchester caliber, and a nice small Ruger LC9s 9mm for concealed carry.

Now I need to find the right accessories for them.

Nice couple, but my opinion for such large optics onto a M4 style rifle is kinda overdone. The long barrel compensates this a little, but I would surely add a EO Tech 552 red dot and maybe a 3x magnifier onto a flip slide.

It's a .308, so a bit longer range than the typical 5.56 AR.

It looks like your half-in/half-out with that AR... you have the scope, barrel length and caliber for longer range and accuracy, but the buttstock says carbine. Swap it for a Magpul PRS or similar, and then get a free float handguard for a bi-pod. GTG!

Saw it into the description, but you cant deny the close similar look, no?
An UBR Magpul PTS is nice or a Magpul PRS2 if available for you rifle.

I have had about 3 years with my KSG now so I have tried a bunch of variations. I have a MagPul vertical grip and a Streamlight TLR-1s on the lower rail and I am very happy with that setup. Just enough space to not bang your knuckles with the light, easy access to on or strobe with the flick of a thumb and no block to vision on the upper rail if you are not using the light.

I have tried the 45% grip and it is harder to hold on to and control. Using no grip was good control and easy to hold on, just not as easy and fluid as the vertical, especially with the light on the bottom. The vertical grip has been great in my many range trips with the KSG.

For bedside defense I keep 00Buck in one tube (and chambered since I have no kids/family in adjoining rooms) and rifled slugs in the other tube for easy selection based on situation.

Got some drop in (not free floating, but still nice: Leapers UTG Pro Quad Rails on order, and considering a bipod. I think you are right on the buttstock, as well. Looking at the Magpul PRS Gen3. The carbine buttstock is what it came with new from the store/manufacturer.

What are your thoughts on the pistol caliber carbines?

I've been looking at the kriss vector lately and considering canadian laws where rifle/carbine mags must be pinned to 5 rounds, the vector's use of pistol mags would allow them to be pinned to 10 rounds which is nice.
