Bridgestone OEM run flat inner slash/cracking?!

Need some help/advice here. Mainly wondering if this is a warranty issue or just cut my losses.

Car notified me my tire pressure was low on my rear right tire. I proceeded to add air. Next morning was back to low air, 20 psi.

Took to the car to tire shop thinking I had a nail or something. They show me the inner of the tire and I see this! Has anyone had this happened before? The shop did find half a key in the tire but in a completely different place from these slashes. Nothing visible from the outside or it wouldn’t have held any air at all.

Please let me know what you think and if you’ve run into a similar issue.

2023 X5 xdrive with 16k miles.

Thanks!

Frankly, I have never seen anything like this...and the outside looks intact? I am not even sure what to think.

+1... Never seen anything like this.

If I were to "Guess"..... I would say that

a. the tire sat FLAT, and twisted, for an extended period of time.... in freezing cold temperatures, or

b. Some 18 year old kid learned how to use the tire installation machine at his first job..... on your tires.

You can "try" to claim warrantee... i wouldn't get your hopes up though. I suspect Bridgestone will say the same thing as I just did, and deny you a claim.
