Toyota Supra’s Sales Dominance Over Nissan Z Is… Over
And yet, I have still seen 1 Z on the road since they have been released.
I see a lot of Supras. Nissan dealers have tons of 2024 Zs sitting on their lots, but good luck finding a manual Supra. They are unobtanium. I do dig the Z, but it's just not special enough to trade my M2C for. https://www.thedrive.com/news/toyota...ssan-z-is-over |

I have started seeing more Zs around. I don't hate it. I don't like it as much as the 370Z, but I don't hate it.
I think Nissan missed the boat by releasing it as basically the same car as the Q60 has been for like... 10 years? |

i hardly see them either but i believe the numbers...
nissan is offering like $5000+ off sticker on these now (2024 models). The Nismo models are like $8-10k off if you search. So like 39k for a Nissan Z vs 57k starting for the supra. Its a compelling argument for the nissan, especially if you just want to cruise around town and feel cool. Granted, you don't even get an LSD in the base model. https://www.theautopian.com/you-can-...mment-page-1/#!

I have never seen a Z on the road. It's not regional, as I travel fairly frequently. Wild to think that I have never seen one.

It may be because they are rwd only, but I cannot recall ever seeing a Supra in Chicagoland.

It's a really strange car, I have seen just one in the wild and it looks new and exciting but old and tired all at the same time. Just weird.
When I look at the sticker price I cannot help but cross shop against better low mileage used examples that are much more exciting. Two door cars really do need to be exciting or I don't see the point in the practicality penalty when you can get a M2 for example. |

I agree, the looks are a mixed bag, I like the rear side look. Also hearing about Nissan teetering on the brink and slashing models/production is going to hurt customer confidence walking into that showroom. If Nissan survives and people can pick up these Z’s at a sizable discount it (could) actually be a good deal and hold resale after some years. (Buy it cheaper, it’s resale won’t crater due to limited sport cars being made and it does have a historic lineage) Last edited by MisanoblueZ4; 02-25-2025 at 08:23 AM.. |

I like how it looks from some angles, but for the price, it just isn't worth it. They would sell these all day at $40K.
Might be able to get a new for $40K at some point if dealers keep discounting them. |

TBH I never understood heavy two cars. You don't get that sports car feel and you don't get the practicality of a sports sedan

I have yet to see one in Kansas City or the many other cities across the country I've visited since the new Zs introduction.
My buddy in Kansas City just paid a $4K ADM to get a fresh off the boat blue/black 2025 Supra 6MT from a dealer in upstate NY. He had been on a waiting list for nearly a year with 3 local Toyota dealers. He didn't want to wait any longer as those dealers had no idea if the car he wanted would be coming in. He found one on a boat and took it. Super rare color combo as well. I wouldn't pay ADM on a car, but he wanted what he wanted. Sweet car though. Stunning color in person.

Z is total meh. I’ve seen 5 or 6 in person, sat in s few.
Such a shame. Nissan has such incredible engineering history and capability.
