Preparing Driver Assistance Systems Error

Hey guys, just bought my wife a brand new 2022 x3 yesterday and when we got home from the dealer I noticed a check engine light. When I checked the vehicle status through the idrive it said "preparing driver assistance system…" the car drives fine but the remote start isn't working. This is a brand new car, has anyone had this issue? Wondering if the dealer just needs to reset the ECU or if it's something else. The car only has 6 miles on it.

No way for anyone to know what happed in your situation. Either way when you get it resolved at the dealer please post what happened.

Try resetting the headunit by pressing and holding the volume button on the dash for 30 seconds until the headunit restarts.

After the restart with engine not running go to the Apps menu and open it. Then press the options button on the center console and select "update Apps and services".

Did you register your car with the connected account?

So I just went into the car now. The message is gone from the idrive and now I just have a check engine light but nothing under vehicle status everything is green. The car is not registered to bmw connected yet. However I did not try those steps yet. I'll try now

Without registering the car to BMW connected service you won't be able to use remote start from the "My BMW" App.

The CEL is causing your remote start to not work and is not related to your driver assistance systems message. You need to drive like a mile or two for the driver assistance systems to start. Usually this only occurs after a KAFAS camera calibration from windshield replacement and you generally should not see that any other time. It is a white warning which is informational. The CEL you need to go to dealer to have dealt with.

So the check engine light went away on its own. Not sure what the heck I did lol. I went into the idrive vehicle status and just went into each option as I mentioned earlier the only light I had today was the check engine light but the error message went away. The only thing that looked off was the tpms so I just calibrated it for my tire size. Once I did that it seems like the check engine light went away and the remote start is now working. Very random not sure what was going on.
