2015 or 2016?

Hey guys,

I'm kind of torn at the moment as I'm debating on whether to pick up a 2015 M3 or to just place and order on a 2016. I like the idea of the extra standard features on the 2016 but am curious on the wait.

Question is, if I get my order in as soon as the system opens for the 2016, when is the earliest that I could expect the car?

Unless you've already got one lined up or are talking about used I doubt you're getting a 15. Few, if any, allocations left.

Not to be a bummer, but you may just have to head with a 2016 at this point.

Getting a 2015 F80 right now is tough.........unless you have powers beyond mere mortals

Haha I have an allocation lined up if I want it. Just debating at this point. My 2013 M3 is up in October so I guess it may make sense for the 2016 anyway?

That'd be good timing for a 2016 order. The initial allocations should be delivered before then, but at this point they're probably all spoken for, or very close.

I'm in a similar boat...CA says this week is the last week to get my order in on a 2015. Will probably just go w the 2016 and pray to baby Jesus it delivers before Nov..

I contacted BMW AG direct, now maybe I'm different over here in the Netherlands, they told me I could switch my 2015 week 24 build to a MY2016 but the earliest i would see the '16 would be December. This was 3 or so weeks ago.

Btw, your guy in NL is great! He's supposed to send me some info this week on 2015 vs 2016 ordering, prices, etc. Waiting until December will be rough though. I wonder if they'd give me a discount on a short term lease until it arrives...I really don't wanna deal w a rental car company.

That's interesting, I'm doing a military purchase and my CA here in Italy has told me that I should have my MY16 by mid August.

That's is the answer that I WANTED. You're lucky that Pentagon Car Sales is still in Italy. I wish that I could go through them here like my last two BMWs but they switched over to Lexus at Ramstein. I don't know if BMW AG were just trying to pressure me to keep my original order bt telling me Dec.....it worked.

Are you buying or leasing?

If youre leasing you may want to may want to contact a California dealer and see if you can lock in rates (CA gets 90 day lock) since residuals are very high right now. You could probably to ED in Late august or Sept. (you must sign the papers by end of august, but jut in case the programs are not as good later in the year.

I was told late august for my car. I should get the first allocation from my dealer.

I went to bmw of San Francisco. I went on a Friday may 8th my sales person got back to me on Wednesday the 13th said the order for a 15 was accepted and he proceeded to finalize everything. My order went in to production this tuesday!

Yeah, just found out it's a 2016 only. No more 2015s per CA. Hopefully they can set me up with a rental/loaner. Pockets are being emptied as we speak

As I'm going through your dealer I'll be the Guinea Pig...I hope it's not Dec. Here's what he said:

We cannot yet confirm the delivery period however are informed:

1) It is on first come first served basis , so no Dealer has cars available at shorter notice.

2) The new facelift 3 series will be arriving between August and September 2015.

3) Normal time lines for delivery for this car are now: 16 weeks approximately.

Also This:
We are instructed to take U.S. M3 orders using the 2015 price/specification list and then BMW will send us an Order Confirmation describing the exact vehicle ordered for 2016 model.
