What lights are LED on the 2013 F30 interior?

Was looking around and it doesn't appear there are many lights in the interior of my new 2013 F30. It's really kind of dark when the drivers door is open even though the map lights and dome light come on.

Which brings me to the thought, how many of these if any are LED and can they be replaced without causing errors?

Mine lights up pretty bright. There should be lights at your feet as well, and along the side columns.

I think you can adjust the lighting in the options, I can't recall.

I don't think all of the ambient lighting is standard. My AH3 had a lot more configurability and also pillar lights compared to the loaner 2014 328i I had.

One thing I noticed... stand outside your car, lock the doors, then unlock the doors and look at the lights that come on. Open the door and they switch... I want to find a coding solution to keep the originals on but I haven't had much luck

Usually, most interior bulbs are either the festoon type, or the miniature wedge type. You can poke around superbrightleds.com and find something you want, then order the same thing off ebay for cheap. Some high output cree led's would probably be brighter than stock, but who knows.

Some bulbs like turn signals/brake lights need the right kind, either by wattage or the canbus error free type.

I don't have the b-pillar ones. The ones under the door handles are cool, thanks.

Might be off topic but my 2014 320i w/ premium pkg has LED lights in the inside and outside on the doors as well as the license plate lights are LEDs.

Garage List
Interior lighting is adjustable on the inside of the vehicle through the iDrive whether you have navi or not, whether you have ZLP or not. You can change the ambient lighting if applicable as well usually from classic to luxury/modern... The ambient portions of the interior lighting is LED as are the lights on the outside of the door handles (that option was in my 09 335d and is currently in my 11 335xi).

Because when you unlock the car all the lights brights up, but dims down and only highlight the seat to which door you opens So if you open them all up, abracadabra!

Yeah, the door thing is true and cool. But he is talking about how it is using another bulb when you unlock it. It looks like it's coming from the same light, but it's significantly brighter and has a different light tint when you unlock the doors and don't open any of them.

Even with all the doors open, it's not even close to as bright as it is when you click the unlock button. I want to figure out how to code that as well... Any ideas?

On my 1-series the lights were blue when I unlocked the car and they switched to white when the door was opened.

Yeah, that's kinda like my F30 now. It's been driving me crazy because I want to keep that light when I'm in the car, it's so conveniently bright!

Which light mode have you chosen in the lights menu?

Here is what it looks on the 1er. I don't think you can have that light on during driving.

Correct. I had a few possible modules I wrote down a while ago but never got around to trying. When I get some free time I'll search around in the codes again.

It dims down the center light both front and back after opening the doors anyway. I can`t either find any settings for this in iDrive settings.
