So I typically use google maps on my iPhone with apple car play because historically I have found it more accurate. But randomly I tried Apple Maps in my 2023 m550i (I drive 7) and when using Apple Maps it has a better integration with the car then google maps. Not only does it display additional nav info in the HUD, but also in the live cockpit view. Sharing in case others wirh HUD and live cockpit view didn’t realize this. It’s enough of a difference I’ll use Apple Maps from now on when in the Bimmer.

On Apple MAPS, the entire Apple ecosystem has me locked into everything Apple. Everything is just so integrated, it is hard to switch to anything else. Calendar sends to Maps, Siri adds to Calendar, Contacts, etc. The Time to Leave thing. Suggestions based on patterns.

The only thing I liked about Waze was the Cop Alert and now Apple Maps has that too.

Appreciate the background and Boston accent version. The lady who worked the front desk for my family business growing up was from Boston and had the thickest accent. I loved it!

Yes the integration is much better!

And me being a born and raised Bostonian says "Bimmah". LOL!

Most people outside of our circles here on message boards just know Beamer. I think it started in the 80's when Beamer and Yuppie went together. (I was one).

And while we are getting WAY off topic. (sorry Chuck, I will stop after this).

One of my pet peeves - these BMW DIY experts doing YT videos (which are very helpful) where they code with Bimmercode but call it Beemercode over and over.

It is one thing saying Beemer erroneously, it is another when you can't read it right.

Call that what you want, but if you drive or ride a BMW, you’re OK in my book!
