Catch can for G30 ?

A friend of mine suggested that I install a "catch can" for my 2022 530i. Without fully understanding what it does, I researched it and cannot find one available. Im always interested in increasing the longevity of this car. Has anyone installed one of these ? TIA

I believe they catch oil from your PCV system so it doesn't get recirculated back in through the intake. When oil gets recirculated back in through the intake, it tends to bake on the back side of the intake valve stems….causing build up, reduction of performance and degradation of valve seals.

A catch can that fits a 530 probably won't fit a 540. A catch can that fits a m550 probably won't fit a 540. A catch can that fits an m5 probably won't fit a 530.

There are no catch cans specifically made for the G30 B58 chassis/engine combo. You need to either purchase a B58 specific set up and modify it to fit the G30, or do a complete custom job.

I haven't seen any for the 540 (I have been looking) but in my searches I have seen anything for the 530 either.

I am considering running the Ross Racing VTA kit. Anyone have any perspective on running that?

I saw Kerns video and it looks like a decent solution without a lot of modification to put a catch can somewhere.

It's a good kit. I just don't know if he has any VTA kits available. Last time I checked he only had the OCC with a breather available.

The downside to VTA is you will smell burnt fumes.

Good catch, I didn't even notice that.

Most of the aftermarket is geared towards the 3/4 series and M cars.
