Change your damn plugs... stop wasting forum space...

Wow, with release of Cobb Stg 2/Procede Aggressive maps the forums are full of misfire complaints. Change your damn plugs, it takes literally 25 minutes on this car. Stop blaming your tune ....

Not trying to imply anything, but if it was only because of plugs, the forum would be full of misfire threads on JB4, Procede, etc. They are at the same power levels. And it isn't, most of the threads are about Cobb. Ring a bell ?

That's BS. There is a shitload of people running aggressive versions of COBB tune, and the Procede aggressive maps have only been released recently. Here are some possible reasons why misfire threads are slightly skewed toward COBB at this time:
  • More noobs are using COBB (Most of the COBB misfire issues are resolved by changing plugs)
  • Procede users are generally more experienced with the n54
  • Procede aggressive needs rev 2.5 or 3. Many haven't upgraded.
  • JB4 users generally run crying to n54tech

That or swap coil packs if there is a misfire in only 1 cylinder, and if it still exist it could be injector fuel pump related.

i've been putting this off for over a month because i only get misfire on occasion on my V5 lol. i'm just nervous after seeing so many threads of people replacing plugs and then an injector/s immediately goes out! i'm at 33k and still on the original injectors so i'm long overdue so i'm paranoid as crap about the injectors going out (got the newest fuel pump and brand new turbos though )but i know i NEED to get new plugs, i just REALLY dont want to have to uninstall and reinstall my DP's if the injectors go out all because my SA is a stickler

No misfires here. Only 5k on the current set of plugs and I have 2 sets on the shelf, just in case.

What? I don't see how changing plugs can have a negative impact on your injectors. If the injectors are bad, they're gonna go if you change your plugs or not.

Yep, exactly!

However, one experiment I would like to see: check your logs and only change that cylinder'(s) plug, then maybe we can finally put to rest the "change the plugs at 20K" admonishment.

doesn't make sense to me either i just have seen more than a few threads similar to "new plugs, now bad injectors" lol just makes me worried especially with my other thread i just posted. kinda like "fixing one problem uncovers an underlying one"... which is a shitty excuse i know, i just have WAY too much going on right now to spend a day under my car removing downpipes and my V5 if fixing my "once a week" misfire on plugs makes what my other problem may be already weak injectors let go completely lol

i just need more downtime to be able to wrench on the car
