Yes, that's the whole reason for the process, which guides you through downloading to your PC then transferring to a USB stick. I haven't timed that but probably a couple of hours to do all that. Once it's on a USB stick, you insert it into the car and it takes about 15 minutes to update the car's system.

BMWDownloadManager-windows32-offline.exe For it to work you need a Connected Drive account.

Just brought a second hand UK 2018 X1. The maps in it haven’t been updated since 2021. Before I fork out the money for a years renewal just wondering if anyone can advise how long BMW (or which ever company it is that does their maps) usually takes to update speed limits.
I just took mine to France and notice it is still “programmed” for default rural speed limits on be 90 when it’s been 80 for a good year now. It’s only worth updating for me now if the speed limits have also been updated. |
