Vorsteiner | BMW M4 GTS Unsprung Weight Diet | Wheels & Spline Bolts
 Featured on BIMMERPOST.com  Vorsteiner | BMW M4 GTS Wheel Options & Configurations When the announcement of the GTS was unveiled, we at Vorsteiner were ecstatic we would finally have the option to get a "no holds barred" version of the ///M badge in the United States. The closest choice(s) we had to limited raw production vehicle was the E36 lightweight and the ZCP Competition Packages were only mild sport variants of the existing production line. We were always forced to admire from the sidelines when it came to the E46 M3 CSL and E92 M3 GTS. But patience is a virtue and 20 years later of being ///M faithful, we were finally blessed to own a piece of ///M history. We decided to break our streak of Alpine White vehicles and venture into the dark side with this Black Sapphire Pearl example. While being conscious of break in miles, we wasted no time by adding Xpel Satin Clear Shield treatment to protect the beautiful exterior and give off a more sinister performance purpose look. When giving the ///M division free reign to engineer a vehicle, you have to be quite confident that what they sell you is almost German Engineering perfection. When we brought the vehicle into our studio, we were very adamant in only looking to improve the vehicle with key components that we felt the GTS could be improved upon. Our focus lead us to the most logical and easiest area to improve upon: weight. We decided for driving balance and handling, we looked at samples in our Vorsteiner Flow Forged Wheels catalog. With our VFF 103 19" /20" configuration with factory Michelin Pilot Sport Cupt 2, we were able to shave a total of 13.1 lbs NET and we were quite proud of this feet. When configured for a 19" diameter all around with the VFF 106 on Michelin Pilot Super Sports, the weight savings were similar to the VFF 103 staggered diameter format and we are one of the few wheels in the industry that easily clear the massive OEM BMW Carbon Ceramic Brakes. The final weight reduction came when we added our Vorsteiner Spline Wheel bolts to shave off the final ounces and save the wheels from being scratched when mounting up. Damn that's pretty much frozen black pearl now. Looks menacing. Pretty crazy to find flow formed wheels that light and clearing the oem CCB

We are in the final stages of producing a 7000 series aerospace aluminum grade forged uprights for M4 GTS.
The uprights are designed to not only elevate the wing to create cleaner faster airflow and also positioned slightly further back to create more downforce over the stock uprights. Here are some images of the GTS-V uprights for reference: |
