Endless MX 72
Hello all,
there weren't many brake pad upgrade options when I got my 120i. I dug deep into my pockets and went for the only option at the time: Endless MX72 All four corners, to keep the ABS/ESP co-ordinated. I have experience with Endless ME20, ME22 and MA45b, but those are too track oriented to be used in a year-round daily. MX72 easily works in frosty weather, which was my biggest concern and that is why I am posting here, so others may know that even in cold weather theses pads are ready to bite. The main drawback, as with any ceramic pad, is that they are so kind to the discs, that wearing rust off the disc surface takes a few applications. Funnily enough, the pads get grabby on rusted discs. And noisy. Otherwise, they are VERY progressive. The bite/grip and release behaviour are outstanding. Of course, as always, Endless prices means that the pads had better perform well :-) Dusting is light and non-sticky, and far less than BMW pads. Last edited by Setright; 02-16-2023 at 02:49 AM.. Brembo now do the Sport HP2 for my model, which I would have chosen if available due to the lower price.
However, the reduced dust of the MX72 is a big advantage. The rims stay cleaner for longer, and the dust is easy to wash off. |

Yeah, the MX72 are superb pads. Used them on my previous M2c and will most probably buy a set for the M135i from the start.

BTW, Endless just released the successor to the glorious MX72, the MX87. You should for sure get one of those now.

Just a heads-up: These pads do not like wet winter weather. The rears have rusted so much that the paint has flaked off.
The front pads are OK in that sense, but they have left countless rusty deposits on my discs causing noise and vibration - even under light braking. This, despite being parked in my humidity controlled garage - and me always braking warmth into the system before parking up overnight. Great pad, in terms of braking ability and especially control (grip and release), and it's nice that they don't dust too much. I am disappointed that they cannot handle true "all round" driving as Endless promise in their marketing material. So, if you live where the winters don't get cold and humid, I would strongly recommend MX72. |

So, Endless has sent me a set of new rear pads, since they rusted out in less than three months! Look at the picture.
The other picture is the mayhem the front pads have left behind on my front discs. Endless don't see a problem They won't replace/refund the front pads. I have no intention of fitting the new rear pads, since they will see salt next winter and the whole mess will start over. If anyone is interested, the brand new pads are for sale. PM me if your car never sees road salt. Pads are for the ATE calipers, not Brembo. |

Superior in every way. More bite, can take more temp, very stable. But it's not a track pad. It clearly has its limits.
