Rear tail lights not working on 123d
Hi everyone,
I recently had the rear light housings replaced on my BMW 123d M Sport after I was rear ended. The fitting of both replacement tailgate lights wasn't done by a BMW specialist. The housing and lights came from a wreckers, and they came off of a BMW 1 series car, that wasn't an M Sport. The dilemma I currently have, is that the tail lights are not coming on when I turn on the lights. All the other rear lights are working, brake lights, indicator lights, fog lights. The same light bulb that lights up the tail lights is working when I select the fog lights. Unfortunately I no longer have the old light housings to cross reference if it's a light issue itself or an internal computer issue. It's not a fuse issue as I've checked and doesn't appear to be a bulb issue. The BMW is not under warrantly and I'd prefer to avoid the $300 diagnostic fee if possible. Can anyone offer any advice? Thank you, Jesse |

Doesn't Australia have some sort of "BMW Club"? Don't you have a BMW indy garage in your area?
Obviously the garage that put in the tail lights didn't check out their work. Who paid for this work, you or insurance? Do a full check here for all Australia posts-maybe you'll find out some important info or someone who seems to know BMWs really well. Google is your friend: my BMW tail lights don't work. Shall I assume the lights that are working have bulbs and those not working are LEDs? I assume M Sport and non M Sport have same tail lights. Good luck And, re-post your question in Regional Australia Last edited by NorthernDancer; 12-24-2022 at 11:57 AM.. Reason: add info |

Did you sort out your tail lights?
Hi Jesse, I'm in Aus and whilst I haven't been rear ended, my tail lights suddenly stopped working with the headlights apart from the fog lights working. I'm getting the impression there was an issue with the tail light seals previously which was a fix apparently. OES lights are the go apparently but they are expensive....cheaper than the 5-10K price BMW quoted to 'investigate'....let me know how you went
