Any pictures of cognac in the wild?

As the title states, anyone have pictures of a cognac interior in the wild. Most of the pictures I find on the web make it look a couple of shades darker, a richer color than I remember it to be. Almost desirable. I'm referring to the M40i 6 speed press release here.
Since I have one on order, with the cognac seats, however not in production as of yet, It's time for me to make the final call.
This will be my 4th BMW, 2nd Z over the last 24 years, and I remember it from past trips to the dealer as being more of a bland tan. When I ask the dealer if they had a car with it in stock, they said no. Big Red Flag to me.
I'd prefer not to get stuck with cogyuck!

Check a site like Car Gurus or Autotrader. Can filter by interior color and should get lots of picture in various lighting.

Like these: https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=31123767

They look to be the same color as my 2021 m240 convertible

The tone is the same as the previous Cognac option. You can see some pictures of mine in my Garage page: https://g29.bimmerpost.com/forums/bp...=view&id=43113

Online pictures are never accurate as your computer monitor might not be properly calibrated and the person taking the pictures might have taken them in lighting conditions that affected the shade you are viewing. That is why you always see disclaimers on websites regarding the colors.

IMHO the only way to see the true color is in person. I recommend that you check out the new and used inventories at your local dealers as cognac was sold in models other than the Z4. I know that the 230i, M240i, 430i and M440i are sold with the cognac color.

Probably the best advice on here. It’s available in about every model, so I’m sure your local dealer would probably have at least one car on the lot with it. With that being said, you can get some pretty accurate representation by looking at YouTube videos as well. Assuming you have any decent, modern monitor or computer it should be reasonably calibrated for color accuracy. iPhones are also known to have very accurate color representation tuning of their displays, so if you have one of those probably be ok looking at pictures in various lighting.

what... like THIIIIS ONE? :P

Some seat colors, it doesn't matter. Magma Red looks RED in all pictures and video, iphone or not. Yet the seats are ORANGE.

Cognac does show through alot better in the pictures and vids than Magma Red.

I was waiting for your video to appear. 😉

The best advice for the OP is to check on the new and used inventories at his local dealers. Cognac is a popular color and he has a good chance of locating one at a dealer which he can view the leather color in person. 👍🏻

Thanks to those who posted pics, and links. I have multiple monitors, iPads, iPhones, and a MacBook, so a variety of screens to look at the pictures.
Robsisheres photo is as close as I remember.
I didn't mention the color in my original post, It's San Remo Green metallic. I then plan on doing a stealth xpel wrap. Hopefully getting a frozen finish without all the hassels of a frozen finish. We'll see?
Black is usually my go to interior, but in this case, I think it's time to break with tradition.

In my opinion looking at car pictures is similar to online dating. The profile pictures that you see online are never the same as when you meet the individual in person. 😉

The example that Horseman gave about Magna Red is the perfect example.

Thanks for linking the video Horseman. I just finished watching it, good job! Brings back fond memories of a brand new 2000 M Roadster, and my youth.
I'll look forward to your one year vid. Enjoy your new car and, more importantly, your youth.

I actually think they look red in person. Weird how people see different tones.

One of my friends has the Tacora Red interior in his Portimao Blue M240i and in my opinion the red looks much deeper when looking at it in person than in online photos.

I definitely agree with Horseman that when seen in person, Magna Red has a more of an orange shade than the many pictures we have seen posted online.

Even BMW has a disclaimer regarding colors on their USA website.

My wife has Tacora Red in her X3. It’s pretty dark, almost closer to a burgundy color. It’s a little darker than the photos on BMW’s website for sure. But BMW’s website isn’t the greatest for accurate colors. Most of those are renderings. That’s why I prefer actual pictures, assuming you can’t view it in person.

Shameless plug. lol

I don't get anything out of it other than the satisfaction that people can use it for more informed decisions.
