Clunk sound over bumps
So got my (used) X7 in and had it lowered before I even drove it. There is a weird clunking sound coming from the driver-side front area. I cannot seem to figure it out. I had to go to the dealer to align the car but they couldn't get it all the way to spec.
Since the car is under warranty and lowering is a big "no-no", I might have to come out of pocket to take it to an indy. Does anyone else have issues after lowering? |

How much did you lower it? What conditions characterize the clunk? Is it random or is it once per tire revolution, or is it only when you hit a bump? Does steering angle affect the clunk? Does it occur at any speed? More info please.

It makes noise only going over bumps, other than that, smooth ride. I'm thinking ball joint or bushing |

Take it back to the shop that lowered it and have them either fix it or return the height to OE.
Me? I couldn't decide whether to lift or lower mine, so I did both. Oddly, it looks like it did the day I took delivery. |

Friend of mine stopped by and he said most likely it is a ball joint since it sounds just like it
