EMUK Towing Mirrors
Has anyybody bought a set of these Towing Mirrors that are specifically designed for each model of car. I believe that EMUK supply BMW with the BMW Logo at a far greater price than EMUK branded.
Mine are specific for the G01, due to Covid I had my first tow using these mirrors last week, they seem to stick out quite a way from the car, on a couple of occasions I brushed a field hedge fortunatley with no damage. My question is, have you cut the arm, if so, by how much or a photo would be appreciated |

Milenco recommended F4 Pads = Rubbish, then they Recommended New Brackets 4589 for my original Grand Aeros at a cost of £48 = Rubbish You will like the EMUK mirrors as I think they are the best mirrors I have had in nearly 50 years of towing, let me know how you get on with them please |

How do the milencos crack the surrounds? I tried mine that I had for the 3 touring and they seemed to be okay at least for a test fit?
I have the black mirrors from the LCI if that makes any difference? |

The surrounds are quite wide and with a sharp curve in the top. To get a reasonable grip with the milencos you need to tighten them down a fair bit. Mine didn't crack the surround until this last time of using them after 2 years or so.
It's a very common problem and milenco specifically mention BMW X car mirrors on the adverts saying there's a new foot that is compatible with the X mirrors. They aren't very good either though. The EMUK solution is much much better. |

My Milenco's cracked the surround but that is not what I am asking on this thread, loads of X3 owners have had this problem with Milenco Aero Mirrors

I managed to crack one of my mirror surrounds with my Milenco aero mirrors because it was necessary to tighten the clamp tightly with the original pads. I’ve now switched to the F type pad that has a ridge about 1/3 of the way across that fits into the gap between the black edging and the body of the mirror. This makes the aero mirror much more stable and reduces the clamping pressure needed to hold it securely in place.

Milenco recommended F4 Pads = Crap £36
Milenco recommended The New Super Duper Platignum Grand Aeros = Crap £89 I will return again to my original question " Has anyone CUT the EMUK Arm as they are very long , if so, by how much a photo would help" If you don't understand my question don't bother to Hijack this thread with woes of cracked mirror surrounds, I am fed up to the teeth with people asking me about cracked mirror surrounds, most BMW X3 owners using Milenco mirrors have had this problem |

People are only asking about the cracking surrounds its not such an issue is it. The forum is about sharing experiences after all.
I just checked my EMUK mirrors against the grand aeros and the stick out about 2" further than the Milencos. I'm not sure it will bother me that much but I'm not towing until the beginning of August now, ill see then. |

Thanks BH, I am so pleased that you have turned up, I have mine in the vertical position, they do stick out a lot further than the hopeless Milenco's.
From your photo, it seems that you have not cut the arm, which I was contemplating, I will try the horizontal position and see how I get on, the length will be the same, travelling back from the Club site at Chirk two weeks ago I brushed a field hedge a few times. Looking forward to Malvern in a few weeks when I will try them out in the new position. But, thank you for your original Heads -Up on EMUK Mirrors |

I align the outer edge of the mirror with the end of the arm. Doesn't stick out to far now & gives the required view(s) down both sides of the 'van when towing I've just returned from the Lakes & as much as some of those roads were 'interesting' I never had a problem with the mirrors sticking out to far Great mirrors but I do think the mirror heads need to be horizontal & not vertical. Let me know how you go my friend |

Admiral Just added some self adhesive white reflective circles (bought of the bay of e) to the back of the mirrors as they seemed invisible when attached to the car before the reflectors were added

Good idea, I tried the new the Platinum Milenco Mirrors, specially designed for the X3 and X5. Total rubbish, glad I only borrowed them from the dealer as I would have wasted £89. I trust you are still getting on well with your EMUK's, I am very pleased more so after advice on the horizontal position

Used mine for the first time two weeks ago, blown away by how much better they are than the milencos. The mirror reflection is much better quality than the grand aeros I had before and once set up theres no more adjusting the mirror each time, they go straight on back into the right position. The only thing I'm going to do is trim a couple of inches off the end as I don't need them to stick out so far.

Just returned from a trip to Dorset, again clouted the nearside, in fifty years of caravanning I have done this twice and both times using EMUK mirrors, so one of my jobs in the morning is to shorten the arm by a couple of inches or so, as we have another trip planned for next Thursday to Brecon for five days
