Had this exact same issue. It was the malfunctioning exhaust valve flap. It rattled like crazy on cold start, and blips. I fixed it in 2 seconds by unplugging the exhaust valve connector when the car was warm and in sport mode so that the exhaust valve stays open ALWAYS now. Love how it sounds when it is always open and no more rattle!
