Spacesaver solution for the E9x M3 (copied from a post of mine on M3torque).
Most of the ground work comes from this thread for USA owners on m3post:
However the tyre they chose is not only a poor size fit for the M3 (on std sized tyres) but hard (impossible?) to locate in the UK.
The X6 18" space saver steel wheel seems to be the only BMW® SS wheel that will fit the M3. I haven't been able to find an 18" SS wheel from another manufacturer with the bolt pitch required.
The first problem is that the M3s front and rear tyres have different diameters.
Std 19" wheels have a diameter of:
Front: 654.1mm
Rear: 668.1mm
The only space saver tyre that is wide enough to fit the X6s 5J space saver wheel and tall enough to match the M3s tyres is a Bridgestone space saver 145/70R18. which has a diameter of 660.2mm - half way between the front and rear diameters noted above.
However this tyre is not imported into the UK and you have to request a tyre to be imported for you and then arrange to pick it up from a distributer...not a big deal I collected one this morning...cost was ~£79.
Everything else is as the M3post thread, the X6 wheel is ~£100 from BMW®.
The spigot reducing ring I got from Ebay and picked up direct from the seller in Coventry for £5 (current item number 260315731718).
An expensive malarkey but if you are going somewhere and really can't afford to be late because of a puncture then its worth every penny.

- BMW® 36-11-6-768-861 black steel wheel
- Centering ring, 74.1-72.6 mm
- Bridgestone SS tyre 145/70R18
