That’s the spot, I did find it again after posting but didn’t update my post because I figured someone else would know where I meant
much like CarPlay I believe Android Auto does not support cable mode. BMW are all in on wireless systems so don’t even allow it as a fallback. As long as you have the minimum specifications for wifi (iirc it’s 5GHz support) once you can update to Android 11 you should be able to use it as it will no longer be only on specific brands
