Offset matters greatly. I ran 18x9.5 +22 with 255/35 tires and it rubbed, so I switched to +45 and no rubbing. Just saying that the tire size and wheel width is a tire-to-wheel matching issue, for rubbing you need to worry about the offset of the wheel.
