Spot on, the tq and hp curves have to be sweeter in the usable rpm ranges vs peak rpms. Im not sure about the tq splits and AWD parasitic loss as the 488 is RWD but Ill bet the P car just is more efficient in the driveable ranges than the 488. Im not remotely saying the 488 is slouch but just making assumptions in regards to this unique comparison.
This might be meaningful:
Turbo S 590 lb/ft of tq at 2400 rpm and 640 hp at at 6750 rpm
488 560 lb/ft of tq at 3000 rpm and 660 hp at 8000 rpm
Ive never seen dynos of either car but....
