Just another affordable recommendation:
Orient (owned by Seiko) makes a lot of incredible pieces with many falling under the $200 mark when discounted. You can find them at
www.orientwatchusa.com or you can also buy many of them on Amazon. There's a list of authorized online retailers at their site (
http://orientwatchusa.com/customer-service/authenticity) but there's a healthy, reliable grey market too from what I've read around Watchuseek.com's forums.
I have a blue Orient Ray that I really enjoy wearing. Pictures truly don't do Orients justice. It's amazing when you consider that you get watches with solid case/build quality that come with in-house automatic movements. Accuracy hasn't been a problem for me either, but I also don't check the second-by-second accuracy each day.
Here's the thread I posted with some pics when I got my watch:

I currently have a blue Orient Bambino Version 3 (
http://orientwatchusa.com/collection...assic/er2400ld) on its way as I really like the minimalist Bauhaus look. Some of their other designs, like their Sun and Moon watches (
http://orientwatchusa.com/collection...utive/et0t002b) are also very intriguing to me. I'll add that the photos on their site sometimes don't capture how good the watches look. I've noticed that better pics can be found just by doing a Google image search.
Some of their other interesting designs aren't even sold in the US, but you can find them via other dealers who ship from overseas.
Anyway, great post with great info! Just thought I'd throw out a suggestion.
Edit/Disclaimer: I do not work for Orient nor am I a contractor on their behalf. My only relationship with them is that I am a satisfied customer who really likes their watches.
