I haven't thought of "stuffing as much as possible" in the front of a 135, but I have thought about trying to reduce the amount of tire stagger. One way, of course, is to "option down" a 135 with the all-season tires, 205/50-17 all around. I suspect that car would be a LOT more likely to be neutral on power than the standard setup. It just doesn't have anywhere near the visual effect, sadly. Even the 205/225 setup on the 128 Sport might be a good compromise. The 8.5-in rear wheel width on the 135i's standard wheels doesn't leave much room for going narrower, as 225 is about the narrowest you can go (8.5" is the top of the recommended width for a 225/45, for example). On the good side, the 7.5" front wheels allow for wider than the 215's fitted stock.

One could potentially fit 225/40-18 on all four corners of a 135i, even with the different rim widths, which does result in a slightly taller tire than stock (about 1.4% fewer revs per mile, which isn't too terribly bad of a change), though nearly identical to the 205/50-17 base tire.
