Zero clue... But I do have comfort access and from what I know, the harness is very delicate and has the fiber optics audio cable type delicate wiring... From what I understand, it might not be so wise to do DIY if you have comfort access...
Actually, I just asked and no, interior is not required for exterior handles, it's a breeze they say...
