I miss being able to have a compact luxurious sedan that delivers thrills without breaking the bank. It seems like aside from the Alfa Giulia nobody in the market will deliver this for the foreseeable future.

Sure there's the C43, S4, and M340i. But they aren't "fun" in the way you and I view that word. I was really counting on the 2er GC to fulfill this niche.
I actually had a long conversation w/ a Giulia owner the other day. He comes from owning a long line of BMWs and Porsches. Said the best car he ever owner was an 07 Cayman but had kids, so he had to give it up. Then he said the best everyday vehicle he owned was a ZHP 330i which he missed very much since getting rid of. He's had an E30, E36, E46 and E90, but thats when he stopped. He simply disliked the F30 and loved the F22 but needed 4 doors.

He bought an Alfa Giulia Q4 and said its the best car he's had in a while and reminds him of his Cayman and ZHP. He said it really is an emotional car and just feels less electronic and more raw. Luckily he's also had no issues in 2 years and 35k miles, and his dealer is paired w/ Porsche and Maserati so loaners are no problem for him and his service department is fast.

Honestly, if you have a good Alfa Dealer Network and can get a good lease deal (I still don't know if I would buy/own one long term) the Giulia is a very enticing car. You can get a 2/3 year lease for cheap. I don't plan on getting one myself, but I am going to test drive one to see if all the wonderful things I've heard about this vehicle are true.
I drove a base Giulia for a weekend last year and it was phenomenal. Literally miles and miles better than any equivalent 3-series. No comparison.

Sure the gearbox was a crappy ZF but honestly for that type of car (4 door sedan) where my expectations were super low it was just a really well engineered and fantastic car to drive. It felt communicative....
