2GC is simply made for profits and expanding the brand's cliental. It is essentially a competitor for the A3 and A/CLA Class, all of which serve a similar purpose, by offering a lower priced vehicle for those who don't care about cars but just want to be seen with 4 rings, the 3 pointed star or kidney grills, its all about image. Most buyers of the 2GC will likely not know what engine they have under the hood, and won't know that their car is FWD, or even what that means. Hell I remember BMW said back in the day that over 60% of 1 series owners had no idea that their car was RWD.
