I changed the oil and filter at 1200 miles. Sent the oil sample to Blackstone labs. Report said it'd take 5000 miles for all of the engine assembly materials to wash out. I put LiquiMoly 5w30 Liqui Moly 2011 Top Tec 4200 oil in the engine. It meets the BMW LL01FE standard. FYI: all B58 engines, with the exception of those sold in the US, use 0w/5w30 oil. Why? Economy standards.
