I average 18.8 driving hard everywhere, but that includes very little highway driving - and most highway driving is 85-95 mph and often in 5th gear, not 6th. Considering how I drive I am quite pleased. Once or twice just for kicks I did a couple days in "economy driving mode"...which netted me around 26-27 mpg in combined driving...and lots of boredom! I don't know how anyone can drive on the highway at 60 mph in one of these cars, honestly. Might as well just get out and walk.
