I'm from Atlanta and was a frequent to all the beers in the area. Made a trip up to Asheville for their extravagant beer scene as well... That was a long weekend
I see you've got ATL... Ride up to Gainesville and give Left Nut Brewing a shot. Some good stuff and a lot of "not IPA". I also made friends with one of the owners of Reformation Brewery by chance. I went by his house to pick up some second-hand Jeep stuff that he had for sale. Turned out to have a lot of similar interests and ultra nice guy. Still need to take him up on the personal tour next time I'm up that way...
Now that I'm in the North Florida area, my go to is the small little brewery, Deep Brewing. Some super tasty gets there. Largest in town is Proof Brewing and they also have some guest taps. Makes for a great Sunday with their introduction of in-house restaurant, too.
