I've seen that vid before.

In that vid the S4 has wider summer tyres than the Beemer which has all season tyres on.

And that is a base spec 335i with no adaptive suspension nor M Brakes. The S4 has uprated suspension.

So in his own words the Beemer is cheaper, has a nicer interior, better fuel economy, better ride the Audi wins because it has a better "piped in" engine note. OK.

The thing is though the 335i isnt meant to be a "sporty" car it's meant to be a bloody fast otherwise standard saloon. BMW don't (as you say) have an M3 "lite" like the S4 is an RS4 "Lite". But honestly I'm not sure I would want one. If wanted better track ability I would buy an M3, but on the road I don't need more performance than I already have, and if I wanted a dedicated track car it wouldn't be a 2 ton saloon.
