read #25 in the above thread for technics low cost system suggestion.
Although I'm not sure it works since it was based on recoding the head unit for
flat output something I believe was never achieved.

The cheaper upgrade for this system consists
of a JL cleansweep processor to flatten the head unit output a 4 or 6 channel
amp speakers from the list mentioned for the fronts and underseats
a Technic Harness suited for the base system. amp and processor go in the trunk and trunk
subfloor area.

Cost in the US for something like this runs 1k US to 1.5 k US (in parts). I know in Europe they don't seem to get Electronics as cheap or have access to the same brands. I have no idea of what it is in Australia.

Vp Electricty in the above post sells kits for this system they have all the
necessary parts to install and come prewired and tuned.

You don't want to change the head unit either because it is integrated
with the car electronics and has side effects.
If you do read the following.
When changing the Head Unit the original should be mounted in the trunk
to retain the ability of the BMW programmer to be able to service the car.
The rest of the problems are described in the link.
