Other than the odd map update (one was done from USB and one over the air if i remember correctly) there have been no updates on the idrive on my car until now. The version number on mine is 11/2019.70.

Frustratingly, for over a month, the idrive has been telling me that version 07/2020.54 has been downloaded and that it will tell me when it can be installed.

I spoke with BMW around 10 days ago and they gave me some instructions to refresh the apps but this did nothing.

After seeing your post it reminded me to call them back and I have been told to take a photo of the idrive screen and email it to them so they can put it back to BMW in Germany to get this fixed from there end.

In the idrive you should be able to see the status of the idrive software and see which version you currently have installed. For some reason it appears that those of us with older cars may have an issue with the software update getting "stuck".

Checked mine and stills say no update available and on version 07/2019.39
