Driving style makes a HUGE difference. Pure highway I can get up into the 30's, and when I remember to put it on eco mode it adds about 5% more (when going steady on cruse control, you don't notice it is in eco, but I never remember this). Next favorite mode seems to be 'spirited country roads' where I can usually do mid-high 20's, even averaging in the 40-50mpg. City driving will be lucky to be up into 18-19mpg.

I can't see the logic of running 89 octane just for mileage, since that also basically neuters the power, and brings potential mechanical risk - not worth it to save a few $$ IMHO (but miles of thread on that topic, pro and con....).
