If you drive the 230i hard at all you won't do much better than 20. I average about 22-24 in mixed driving. On long road trips I can get up to 32-35 depending on speeds and grades. If you're going to thrash it...you might as well go with the big engine as the economy loss isn't that great. Weakest link in the F22 is the tiny fuel tank.
