I had one HPFP go on me and I never had one long crank with it. When that one went on me, I pulled my tune and cleared everything. Driving around normally, nothing would happen...no problems. Putting load on it exactly like you mentioned (60-90) and it would trigger it on the spot. My SA said the pump was sucking in pure air and that the seals were shot. I would remove the tune, go WOT under load and see what happens.
