An hour later he called back and told me there was an oil dipstick and the refill is 5.5qts. He also provided me with the pic from the BMW online tech manual listing the oil capacity for my car. Put it in, take it out, what a pain.

Did my first one at 4000 miles. Went to the dealer to buy the filter and oil. Of course they said 'no you need 8 qts.' I laughed and told them 'no give me 6 for 5.5'. They wanted to argue! I told them to sell me 6 and go look it up. Geez.
