I agree "why not". I think they should, prudently, consider smaller, more efficient engines for NA. I think they have to to remain relevant. It's just a matter of whether the NA market will buy them. They may, but the track record for premium brands and 4-cyl engines over that last couple of decades is less than spectacular. 318ti is a prime example... I think they should, but they may get cold feet.
Why would I not buy one? BMW i6 engines are among the best engines in the world and I'm partial to having a car with substantial power output.
