I have heard the praises of "arrows" for yeasts and years when Valentine was the only Detector with them. But my habits had taught me to simply slow down no matter what until the threat was no more. Thus I never bought into arrows.
Keep in mind, I've been driving since 1988 since High School.
I think I got my first Detector in the early 90s, a BEL or Escort.
I upgraded every 2 years after that. I stuck with BEL or Escort because they worked and saved me countless of tickets! And I tend to be "brand loyal".
Ever since I've owned my current R3 and updated the firmware a handful of times, it has worked FLAWLESSLY! It never let's me down. And I've tweaked it so that falsing is non existent. Do I want a R7 and now R8? Sure. Is it a priority purchase? Nope. Only because:
A. My R3 works so damn good.
B. I drive so little.

I'm actually interested in their R4 as well. It too has crazy long distance range.

Safe motoring to all.
I've seen a few used R3's locally...is there anything to watch out for? Old/bad firmware, common failure points like the power port or inability to find a signal, etc? I've been using the same relic of a.radar detector since graduating in '93 but I ALWAYS use Waze just to be sure.
