Well, yeah. If you consider the Performance trim for the Z is likely to be north of $45k.......it's not really fair to compare a $30k 4cyl "sports car" to a $45k+ twin turbo V6 "sports/GT car."

Although, according to early dynos, it seems as though Subaru underrated the new engine. It's rated at 228hp, but many seem to be in the 212-220whp range. And with peak tq coming in at 3600 vs 6000 like the 1st gen it has a much wider powerband.

A catless header + solid E85 tune could bring the car up into the ~245whp range, which is pretty good for a 2800 lb car. And the cars are pretty easy to get weight out of with sacrificing creature comforts.

Just an AP Sprint front BBK, lightweight battery, and rear seat delete are good for 70-80 lbs in weight reduction.
